H O T

Yeah, that's right - HOT. That's what Georgia is right now. We had some bad weather last night which caused the electricity to go out for over 3 hours. It's funny here in a small town ... when your electricity goes out you call a designated phone number (automated answer) and leave your name, phone #, and address. After your electricity comes back on, the city calls you to see if it came back on! How's that for small town service? This is, of course, in addition to paying your phone bill at Knapp's Hardware store ... gotta love small town life.

I just hung up the phone with a friend of mine who lives in New Jersey, and he was commenting on southern culture and questioned whether or not that is an oxymoron! Grrrrrrrr ... well, I'd LOVE to get some comments from my fellow southerners about aspects of our culture so we can prove that we indeed have culture in the south! Come on friends ... let's show Mr. Joisey that not all of us have broken down and rusty cars in our front yards!!! Let me hear from y'all!

Okay, gotta run now and get the cornbread baked along with making the green beans with new potatoes. Gonna grill steak and sausage tonight ... a southern delicacy, I'm sure ;)

In the South, we raise our sons to be gentlemen. A female friend who's not from here almost didn't know how to react when she walked into a crowded meeting and several Southern gentlemen jumped up and offered her a chair.
