As promised, this is a photo of what an acid-stained floor looks like. When Ron and I saw this flooring technique we immediately fell in love with the look. The floor can be made to look like granite or marble, and the color choices are numerous. The bonus to using a flooring method like this is that we are using the concrete floor! No tile, no wood, no carpet to buy ... we use our existing foundation and it will look as if we paid HUGE money for a marble floor. Friends of ours (Micky & Lavaugn) recently built a house, too, and they used this method on their floor. It is BEAUTIFUL ... so we can lean on them to assist us with questions when it comes time to do our floor.
Ron is contracting our home (and much like he does everything else) ... so he has studied every aspect of this method. Just today he spent time at the new house testing different colors so we can find the one we want. The color we both like looks very much like this photo.
Anyway, here it is ... our floor. Kinda cool, huh?
