AUGUST 9th

I am counting the days until August 9th. Why you ask? My very cool friend, Karli (attends Marymount College in Manhattan), works part-time with a real estate attorney on Wall Street. Her rich boss gave her his FIELD BOX SEATS for the Braves v. Mets game so she and I can go. I am sooooooooooooooo hyped. I even gave up my annual trip to Atlanta on my birthday so I can use that time in New York City.

I had a dream the other night that Karli and I ... all decked out in our Braves wear ... dodging beer bottles and popcorn buckets thrown by Mets fans ... were on t.v. yelling for the Braves!! Oh man ... I hope that dream comes true. Well, all but the bottles and buckets ...

I also plan to bring an empty suitcase so I can fill it with clothes and bags from NYC! No ... not for myself ... TO SELL TO OTHERS!!! I am going to make this trip fun AND financially worth it!

That's great!!! Now the Mets won't have to get illegals to clean up following the game. You'll be there to pick up the slack.

Thanks for posting. We thought you were dead (or deported).

Nah, neither dead nor deported (they have to find me first) ... just crazy busy. I'm on vacation this week, so I thought I'd finally post. What'dya think about the pics of Kev?

I could not let today pass without leaving a post here. I have been crazy busy, too, but made myself stop and leave something for all to read. Today is Jennifer's birthday! I am sure you know her well enough by now to know that she LOVES birthdays! (maybe the more she has she'll reconsider)

I am her older sister, but it seems really weird to think of her as 43. Gosh, if she were wine she's be vinegar by now. If she were a pair of boots, you'd re-sole her and call her fashionable again. If she were a car, at least she would be a classic.

But she's none of those things. She's quite simply the best kind of "aged" treasure one could hope to find. A great friend, a fierce mother and the ultimate sister. I know what makes all of that possible... she listens.

She is one of those rare people that is interested in what you have to say. Most people listen to you, waiting for you to finish so you can hear them. She listens with her ears, eyes, body language and how she responds to you. That's why we all love her so much. She listens to all the b.s. we feel it is so important to say. More importantly, she make us feel important/smart/witty/clever for having said it.

Before you think this is all about mush, let me set the record straight. She disagree....alot! After all she leans left, while I can't even she her from the far right. I am, although not a mouse, somewhat more reserved than Jen is. If you know her, you know what I mean. We have different views on movies, books, music, religion, homosexuality, politics, child-rearing, tattooing (I still owe you one for Amanda's tramp stamp), you name it. But she LISTENS to everything I say and respects my right to say it. She knows that anything we say to each other is out of love and meant only to share a piece of who we are, not inflict ourselves on each other.

What can a say about my sister that you don't already know? (plenty...but that is for future embarrasing posts) I love you, Jenny.
